Overview

Due to Company growth, we are actively seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join our Engineering team in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Google Earth and PLSCADD
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 3-5 Years of Experience in Utilities/ Consulting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to handle support projects
  • Proactive and independent
  • Out of the box thinker
Responsibilities
Transmission Line Engineer services include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform closely with various engineering as well as design team members to coordinate entire design package as well as requirements
  • Improve continuously job-related, technical, engineering, and professional knowledge, performance, and skills.
  • Plan, organize, estimate, schedule and effectively monitor all work activities
  • Conductor Selection/Sizing for overhead and underground Transmission Line
  • Insulation, A/C interference, static wire, grounding studies
  • Line Design: Conductor Selection/Sizing, Sag Template, Tower Spotting and Tower Scheduling, and Plans and Profiles Drawing
  • Lead overall transmission line design for all capital projects
  • Review/Design/Model Medium voltage (MV)/ High Voltage (HV) Transmission Line using PLSCADD to ensure compliance with the company’s TM standards and NESC/other standards
  • Drive the project plan for transmission line routing and strategy, specifically:
    • Decide whether to rebuild existing lines or obtain additional right of way based on area congestion and local politics/permitting issues
    • Determine routing in and around into congested stations to optimize design/reliability and minimize the number of crossings
    • Other studies as required to complete the projects
