Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha (SSS) is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political social organization in existence since 2012. Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha was established by Sipradi Trading Private Limited to carry out its CSR activities. The organization aims to assist in the field of education by providing scholarships to the deserving needy children as well as promote adult education in remote villages of Nepal. The organization is also dedicated to help and support senior citizens, orphans and differently-abled people by every possible means. It also provides emergency relief and rehabilitation for the victims of natural calamities and disasters.
 SSS in collaboration with Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (Tata Trusts), India is undertaking various interventions to reclaim, post 2015 earthquake infrastructure in selective villages at Sindhupalchowk. Apart from construction of earthquake resistant school building and primary health centers, the program targeted to educate school children and village community including Behavior Change Communication/Information Education and Communication (BCC/IEC).

The overall mandate of the assignment is to guide the awareness campaign which includes development of communication material in local language, liaise with government officials, and other stake holders in implementing the program at Mankha, Barhabise, Marning, Phulpingkatti and Tatopani VDCs of Sindhupalchowk district, Nepal and to fulfill the targets set under the project. The project builds upon the basics - Better education, hygiene, sanitation and water security and links directly to the Tata Trusts’ vision of clean drinking water and improved health for all.

Job Specifications:

  • Graduate in Mass Communication or Sociology
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in awareness campaign and BCC/IEC on the Drinking Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH)
  • Computer efficiency in MS office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and familiar with internet
  • Well verse with Nepali, Hindi and English Language
  • Report writing and documentation skills 
  • Social and administrative managerial experience

Job Description:

Coordinator - Behavior Change Communication (BCC) and Community Awareness Activities will be assisted by the Tata Trusts team based in India, towards effective roll out of BCC/IEC plans in selected villages of Sindhupalchowk district, Nepal. This job will entail working both, independently and as part of a team, with potential and current grantees, and will include the following: 

  • To work closely with Program in-charge, develop a work plan for all BCC/IEC activities towards the programme and implement in the selected schools
  • Develop Annual work plans (AWP) for the awareness program. This AWP will be the key working document for the program. Individual progress would be monitored and assessed against targets as set in the annual work plan
  • Provide assistance to schools/committees/students groups towards effective roll out of plan
  • To assist program in-charge in coordination with the grass root level, school level, block level and District level government officials of line departments, as required by the programme
  • To Coordinate and build up linkages and networks with the appropriate government agencies/ Training centers/ Service delivery Offices and other organizations, as required
  • Development of publications, Documents, communication materials related to the program 
  • Identify institutions, experts, cultural troops, trainers, service providers as required and involve them for capacity & knowledge enhancement of program partners, program staff, beneficiaries and various committees
