National Business Initiative (NBI), a Nepalese private sector NGO dedicated to supporting inclusive economic growth, is looking for a Trainer/Adviser (for its Kathmandu Office and travel in Nepal , salary range 22.000 – 28.000 NRP) and Journalist / Campaign Coordinator:
Journalist / Campaign Coordinator
Tasks:
- Develop strategy, concepts, story lines for weekly columns in print media
- Coordinate with and report to steering committee
- Coordinate with suppliers of contents, interviewees, etc
- Write articles, conduct interviews, edit, proof-read and translate columns
- Research best practices and develop them into printable articles
- Manage publication and press clippings
- Explore additional/upcoming topics and additional publications in other media
- Monitor success of campaign, improve content and format according to the feedback
- Develop PR material and press releases for NBI activities
- Support trainings to journalists on business & peace issues
- Support administration if and when required
Requirements:
- Knowledge on and dedication for economic issues/ CSR / business & peace issues / conflict transformation
- Fluency in Nepali and English (verbal and writing), other Nepalese languages are an asset
- Experience in working with private sector (individual businesses and associations)
- Experience in editorial writing, addressing a diverse audience
- Experience in managing a campaign and coordinating people and content
- Independent, pro-active, strategic, pragmatic and flexible working attitude
Trainer/Adviser
Tasks:
- Develop and provide trainings, workshops, presentations and advise on communication, mediation, negotiation, advocacy, stakeholder relationship management, workplace co-operation, conflict management and CSR
- Support the secretariats administrative tasks
Requirements:
- Master in Business, Economics, Politics or Journalism (preferably with knowledge on CSR / mediation / conflict transformation)
- Fluency in English and Nepali (verbal and writing), other Nepalese languages are an asset
- Experience in working with private sector (individual businesses and associations)
- Experience in developing training material (English and Nepali)
- Experience in conducting trainings and workshops
- Excellent communication, negotiation and mediation skills
- Independent, pro-active, strategic, pragmatic and flexible working attitude
- Willingness to extensive travel within Nepal
- At least 10 years of working experience
